candy curtains mirror eyes. shining deep beyond the lines. dance floor.
frequencies through my thighs. peeling layers of my minds. dance floor.
all we know nothing is time. dance floor.
purple clouds relax my mind. pillows tell me i’m at mine. purple hazed eyes remind. once more. dance floor.

benjamin finger, james plotkin and mia zabelka craft a mesmerizing sonic world that buzzes and drones, glitches and slithers, eventually careening into unexplored musical territory.
in a short space of time prodigious dutch producer pascal benjamin has built up a catalogue of ear-snagging minimal house confections for labels like welt, norse projekt, algorhythmic and botanic minds. now hes hitting the big time with this 12inch on the mighty slapfunk, and hes packing just the kind of chunky, swinging but ultimately lean jams they love. out of line keeps things focused on the drums, with just some sub bass and microscopic threads of sonic matter in between. to goodto be who? is equally stripped down, but decidedly more wriggly in its make up, and then finest hour kicks off the b-side with some fatter beats and a more prominent bass line. lagrange point finishes the ep off with some subliminal bleeps and tones pinging in between the wafer thin percussive pulses.
label newbie benjamin taylor teams up at the resopal label for three long session tunes. front side is a 8-minute heavy bass bomb filled with taylor’s understanding of subtle things and freaky details. flip-side comes with well-arranged drums, synths and shaking percussions for moving your butts on the floor.
after the original comes the remix. or in this case three. i:cube, chinaski and aera help you refresh your memory and re-draw drawn from memory from benjamin fröhlichs second part of the rude movements series. its one single track, but every remixer has taken his very own approach and came up with a new interpretation. the iconic french producer and permanent vacation long time favourite, i:cube, transformed the original into a soul warming and heart melting late night bomb that lets the sun appear even in the darkest places. chinaski out of frankfurt, well known from his releases on live at robert johnson and uncanny valley, fuses italo disco with a john carpenter-style soundtrack aesthetic and an infectious bassline completed by a full on guitar solo in the break. aera, fresh from releasing his album on permanent vacation, is slowing down the tempo, rearranging the layers of the original and adding a bubbly and underwater atmosphere that let the dub stabs shine. three different versions that may represent different memories of one long night.
4 years can feel like a really long time – -long time no see- was achim maerz frst wake up! ep back in 2013, -it s been a while- is his frst track on metal and machines and it s good to see that some things don t change. it s a true achim maerz track – focused on longing melodies, warmly distorted harmonies based on deep house foundations. -listening to machines- features a kickdrum like a steam hammer in factory hall. for the right mind, even a factory can be an inspiring place. benjamin brunn s -iron copper gold- follows his manner of creating timeless and eternal soundscapes. it is less playful and takes the tension to higher grounds. just like metal, it s cold being touched and it doesn t take long until it reaches body temperature. the fourth track express mode- was released on benjamin brunns drop lp in 2015. achim maerz remix sounds like a screwed-down uptempo house track – slow and heavy, but benjamin brunn s quirkiness is undeniably there.
after building up a unique state of the art sound since ages- including records on labels such as bine, source, modern love, uzuri, warp and many others- move d and benjamin brunn come along with a single on smallville to tease their forthcoming album >songs from the beehive<. the honey ep takes a short trip into the world of two ultraspecial producers. benjamin brunn and move d cut these three pieces from their ultradeep live jams and the result is magical. the deeply kicking >honey< is already proved by smallvilles lawrence: >how crazy can the panorama bar get!<. his flatmate efdemin prefers the >melons<: >thats the deep shit for life!!<. and golden pudel chief ralf köster is amazed about his new ambient number one >after the rain<. in the end move d and benjamin brunn put together what belongs together looking forward to their big album in 2008
